Join me as we create a Sci-Fi short from scratch
A weekly collaborative challenge to master cinematic AI video workflows
Hey creators,
The goal of this newsletter has always been to help you make better videos with AI. But let’s be honest: reading tips is one thing; hitting “generate” is another.
Starting is the hardest part. Believe me, I know.
So, let’s build something together.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be creating a one-minute sci-fi short. Here is the premise:
A young Japanese schoolgirl finds herself cornered in a desolate arena. Equipped with mechanical augmentations and a katana, she has to fight her way out.
The Challenge
I’m inviting you to build this with me. I’ll share every asset, every prompt, and, most importantly, every mistake I make along the way.
Note: We aren’t focusing on deep scriptwriting here. We are defining the plot as we go. The goal is the AI Video Workflow, not the screenplay.
How to participate:
You can replicate my workflow exactly to learn the technical path.
Even better, you can modify my prompts to put your own stylistic spin on the story.
New steps drop every Friday, giving you the weekend to dive in. No deadlines, jump in whenever you’re ready.
The Toolkit
Use whatever you have, but for the best results in 2026, I recommend:
Image Editing: Nano Banana Pro, Seedream 4.5 or Flux 2.0 (your life will be harder without one of these).
Video/Audio: I suggest Veo 3.1 for that integrated sound generation. But any tool works.
I use the Freepik AI Suite for ease of use, but it’s not required. Let me know what tools are available to you, and I will try to help.
Let’s go!
