In February 2021, I was laid off.
I had been an award-winning newspaper designer, working at the same company for over 13 years. Suddenly, I found myself with no network, no plan B, and no options.
I took the first job I could find. I was lucky—the pandemic hit a month later, and I was sent home to work.
It was an awakening. I had convinced myself my talent was enough to grow.
Oh, boy. How wrong I was.
I decided to start a new path, a new career, a new me.
I started learning again.
I took online courses in UX Design, HTML, CSS, Figma, and JavaScript.
It took me about a year, but finally, I was able to switch careers and step into the tech world.
I learned my lesson: never, ever, stop learning.
And then, Generative AI showed up.
It’s déjà vu.
AI won't take your job, but someone using AI will. I believe this quote.
The answer is clear: keep learning, and keep improving.
This challenge can become an opportunity.
I took the first step to learn about Generative AI and want to help you take yours.
This newsletter is an open book into my journey as an AI creator, explorer, and educator.
See you around.
