Kling 2.1 vs Vidu Q1: Which AI Video Tool deliver the best shots?
Testing two of the most recently released models for AI video
Two of the best AI video generation tools have recently released new models: Kling 2.1 and Vidu Q1
Which one is better?
Well, that’s why we are here. Let’s find out.
We are going to generate some videos and see how each tool performs.
Note: Videos will use the same starting frame for the generation. Art created with Midjourney
But here start the differences. Each tool has a feature to help you with the prompts.
Kling 2.1 can have your initial prompt refined with Deepseek.
Vidu Q1 has a Pro Mode. It suggests an editable prompt based on the image you provide as initial frame.
Both are really helpful, and provide a different starting point that may influence the result. This is going to be interesting.
Natural movement: Skeleton Horse
This is a tricky image. We expect to watch horse movements in a skeleton and flames with a simple background.
Kling 2.1
Vidu Q1
Vidu Q1 preserves the dark background, but the movement of the horse is way superior with Kling. I’m going to give Kling this round.
Kling 1 - Vidu 0
Speed: Starship on Saturn
This is an epic scene where we expect to watch movement forward (not as easy as it seems).
Kling 2.1
Vidu Q1
Humm. Kling’s looks more impressive because it’s moving the path, but the starship barely moves. I prefer Vidu’s, but barely.
Kling 1 - Vidu 1
Individual Movement: Sword Dancer
Here we expect to see fast and fluid human movements, without any funny sword stuff.
Kling 2.1
Vidu Q1
Heh. Both tools have their own ideas, and added stuff that wasn’t in the prompt. Kling’s movement is impressive but adds a gun out of nowhere. I’m going for a tie here.
Kling 1.5 - Vidu 1.5
Emotions: Sad girl
Crying is one of the most complicated emotions to get with AI.
Kling 2.1
Vidu Q1
Without a doubt, Kling knows better about drama.
Kling 2.5 - Vidu 1.5
Multiple movement: Ambush
Here we want to see how each tool handles the movement of multiple persons.
Kling 2.1
Vidu Q1
Vidu takes a more measured approach. Kling goes for the full action.
Kling 3.5 - Vidu 1.5
Both tools are great, but my current impression if that Kling has the edge both in expressions and quality of movement (even if it goes overboard sometimes)
Do you agree with the score? Let me know if I missed something.
Thanks for reading, remember to keep exploring, and testing.
