Let’s dive in.
Lights, Camera, Midjourney
Midjourney, the darling of AI image generation, is quietly storyboarding its boldest sequel yet: a fully fledged video model targeted for release as early as June 2025. Internal tests, and a stream of teaser clips surfacing on X, show the team has moved from “what if” to “watch this,” refining pipelines that preserve Midjourney’s trademark painterly flair while adding motion.
Should you keep popcorn at the ready?
Midjourney already powers pitch decks, album covers, and concept art. A native video tool would let those static frames shine. Be warned, there is a lot of hype, but we still need to see the final quality of the product.
Disney+Universal Strike Back
But you may heard it: Midjourney’s image model is now battling lawsuits from Disney and Universal over alleged IP infringement. This means all eyes will be on the video engine, where moving likenesses and copyrighted styles can be even more conspicuous. This could become Exhibit A in the next chapter of AI copyright law. Creators and lawyers alike should brace for plot twists.
AI Video News
Tiktok’s owner ByteDance launched Seedance 1.0, a new video model that has taken the #1 leaderboard spot from Google’s Veo 3 (leaderboards are wacky). You can try it here.
But Veo 3’s users actually don’t care about leaderboards. They are busy launching massive fictional vlogs of Fairy Tales (above), Bigfoot and Stormtrooper Greg on Youtube and Instagram with tons of views.
And there is a Veo 3 Fast version is a cheaper, faster version of Veo 3 with the same 720p native output. (Available in the Gemini app and Flow).
AI Agents are coming to AI Video. These are AI Programs that perform tasks and make decisions to achieve goals with minimal human intervention. And they are coming to AI Video:
Manus has announced a feature to generate video. With a single prompt, Manus plans each scene, crafts the visuals, and animates the vision. We will need to test this feature in detail, but as Agents delivered us Vibe Coding and are able to ship full apps by themselves, don’t underestimate the possibilities.
Higgsfield AI keeps rolling and has released Speak, a feature that turns scripts into motion-driven talking videos, available to Pro and Ultimate plans.
Finally, Runway introduced a Chat Mode, which helps you generate images and video through an intuitive, conversational interface. This is a significant improvement: the more you are able to explain, the better are your results.
Brainpower on sale
OpenAI o3-Pro has been released to Pro and Team tiers. This is the new flagship feature, and it boasts a 64 % win rate against human test-solvers, full tool access (web, Python, file analysis, memory), and, here’s the jaw-drop, it’s 80 % cheaper than o1-Pro.
Google Gemini 2.5 Pro (“Deep Think”) wasn’t going to be left behind. Announced at I/O, Deep Think uses new research techniques enabling it to consider multiple hypotheses before responding. It plugs straight into Search and the new $249 Ultra plan.
Finally, France’s open-source challenger Mistral dropped two multilingual reasoning models: Magistral and Compute. Both smaller than o3 but fully tweakable and compliant with European regulations. Europe finally has a seat at the big-brain table.
Krea 1 now has an Image Model
It is a new real-time, photoreal gen with 50-image personal fine-tunes. It offers instant concept art and product shots and the full suite of additional editing and video tools.
Is it good? Let’s test it:
Prompt Fight:
Let’s see how the top AI Art generators compare to each other, including rookie Krea 1, with a prompt taken from Krea’s showcase.

Thanks for reading. Enjoy coffee and remember:
Most people think AI video is magic. The truth? It’s messy.
But stick with it. This is the new frontier of storytelling.
Cheers.
Do you feel the AGI?
I’m writing a Sci-Fi novel about a Super AI awakening and the fallout in our world. If that’s your mojo, feel free to take a look and give me your feedback.
It would mean the world to me.
