Veo 3 is everywhere: Use this cinematic prompt template and shoot like an angel
A ready-made prompt template for the Veo 3 Boom
Veo 3 is a transformative moment in AI Video, spawning already multiple new video formats. Here are a few:
THE CLEANER | Flow By Google | Veo 3 | Gen AI Short Film. Dave Clark shared on X a few of the prompts he used for this project.
But great results still hinge on how you prompt.
Below is a “mic-check” template, originally built for a sassy, halo-wielding ASMR angel, that doubles as a crash course in prompt anatomy. Use it as-is or swap in the alternate settings sprinkled throughout.
Veo 3 is available on Flow from Google Labs, Freepik, Krea, Leonardo, Hedra and other tools.
1. The Core Template
This template is based of prompts shared on X by @StevieMac03, and generated on Freepik.
SPECS
Tight-medium hero framing with a 120° orbit (clockwise dolly) at 40 mm f/1.4, shallow DOF. One key halo-ring practical above, fill from low-angle pearl bounce; open sky backdrop veiled in soft blue-white haze, floating dust motes and lingering fluffy clouds. Modern-ethereal aesthetic (Think Her × City of Angels). True-binaural capture: twin matte-gold “ear” mics in frame. Ambient layers, silky wing rustle, faint halo sizzle, micro-servo ticks, distant choir pad. No on-screen text/subtitles.
SCENE DESCRIPTION
Pastel-lit cloud studio. Center sits SERAPHINA LUX, radiant, mid-20s appearance, fair skin, platinum long hair flowing softly with the wind. A slender golden halo glows above a sharp side-smirk; she had feathered large wings moving slowly, feathers edged in soft neon. Off-shoulder sheer white crop top, micro-sequin trim; layered charm silver and gold necklaces, holographic stiletto nails. She cradles a white-and-gold binaural mic, wings gently flexing behind.
Camera begins three-quarter left, drifts to frontal conversational distance (shoulders-up). Lens flare flickers off her halo.
Seraphina (whisper, teasing purr):
“Halo check, earthlings—sound divine enough for you?”
She snaps one metallic nail—click—on the left ear, then drags it across the grille—shhhk—ending with a playful eyebrow raise as the orbit settles.
Nail *click*, velvet scrape, orbit settles.
Copy the block into your AI-video tool and you’ve got a glossy opener that looks like it cost a mini-studio.
Take a look at the result:
What do you think? Veo 3 followed most of the prompt, and also ignored a lot of things.
2. What every term means
Camera Framing & Movement
Tight-medium hero framing: Crops the subject from mid-chest to top of head and treats her as the “hero” (primary visual focus). Keeps attention on facial expression and the mic while still hinting at wings/halo.
120° orbit (clockwise dolly): Camera travels in a slow, curved arc, about one-third of a full circle, moving right. A “dolly” implies the camera is on a track or gimbal, not panning in place. Adds gentle parallax (foreground vs. background shift) that feels dreamy, not dizzying.
40 mm f/1.4: Lens focal length (40 mm) gives natural perspective; aperture f/1.4 is very wide, and lets in lots of light. Produces creamy shallow depth of field (soft background blur) so halo, dust motes, and mic stay in focus, while backdrop melts away.
Shallow DOF: Only a thin slice of the scene is crisp; everything else blurs.Creates intimacy and a luxe, cinematic vibe.
Lighting
Key halo-ring practical: The main light source is an actual glowing ring (doubles as Seraphina’s halo prop). A practical means it’s visible on camera. Light feels like it belongs in the world, not just studio gear.
Fill from low-angle pearl bounce: Soft secondary light bounced off a pearly white board positioned low. Lifts shadows under chin without flattening contours; keeps ethereal glow.
Open sky backdrop veiled in soft blue-white haze: Sky background plus a clouds lit with subtle blue-white gels. Helps subject pop; haze “catches” light so you see gentle rays and texture behind her.
Floating dust motes: Tiny particles (often glycerin or haze fluid) drifting in air, highlighted by backlight.Adds depth and a touch of magic sparkle.
Audio Capture
True-binaural capture: Two matched microphones spaced like human ears.Viewers wearing headphones perceive 3-D spatial audio, perfect for ASMR immersion.
Twin matte-gold “ear” mics in frame: The binaural mics are stylized to look like small ears and purposely stay visible. Reinforces the ASMR context and gives Seraphina something to tap/scratch.
Ambient layers: Extra quiet background sounds mixed in:
• Silky wing rustle – gentle feather movement
• Faint halo sizzle – soft electric hum
• Micro-servo ticks – tiny mechanical clicks
• Distant choir pad – low angelic synth swell Stacks subtle textures so even a 5-second clip feels rich and “alive.”
Style & Presentation
Modern-ethereal aesthetic (Her × City of Angels): Visual tone combines the soft pastels of Her with the dreamy celestial vibe of City of Angels. Guides color palette, wardrobe, and overall mood, contemporary yet heavenly.
No on-screen text/subtitles: This one is currently important, as Veo 3 is delivering bad subtitles, make sure to add it. Also, avoids clutter.

finally, an adaptation of @StevieMac03’s prompt:
SPECS:
Medium shot intercut with slow push-ins, 85mm lens, neon glow with cold rain backscatter, Her-meets-Ex Machina scifi style, ambient servo whirring, tool buzz, low hissing from nearby vents, no subtitles.
SCENE DESCRIPTION:
A luxury lab with large open windows showing a forest hums with low voltage and falling sparks. At center, Juno, a solemn cybertech with one flickering cyber-eye and robotic arms, leans over Kara, adjusting the neural ports of her matte-white cybernetic arm. The limb is freshly mounted, connected directly into her shoulder, steam hissing as it locks.
Kara, a striking luxury bodyguard with long, wavy brown hair and a scar down her brow, sits in the chair — cool, still, watching him work. Her bare shoulder glows faintly as status lights pulse along the new limb. Both are fully visible from the first frame.
DIALOGUE:
Juno (solemn, proud):
“Ghost servos. Gen-9 reflex thread. Locked and loaded, dear”
Kara flexes her new fingers, smirking just enough to show she’s impressed.
Kara (cool, lethal):
“Badass.”
Whoops. Wrong hand, Kara. 😬
